"Robotics: Block-based Coding, Level 4" is an exciting, hands-on course designed for children aged 8 and above, focusing on advancing their robotics and programming skills. This 10-lesson program introduces students to the concept of line following using two brightness sensors, enhancing their understanding of sensor-based navigation.

Participants will explore how brightness sensors detect contrasts between different surfaces and how robots can use this data to follow a path. They will program their robotic vehicles to navigate tracks, adjust speed based on sensor input, and optimize movement using control algorithms. Through practical projects, students will experiment with different track designs and refine their programs to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Throughout the course, children are encouraged to develop their creativity, problem-solving skills, and teamwork in a dynamic learning environment that makes robotics both fun and educational.

This course has 10 lessons. Classes run from 9.30 to 10.30 every Saturday

This course is ready for 8+ years old. Girls and boys are very welcome!

Line Following Using Two Brightness Sensors

Topics:

  • Understanding how brightness sensors work in robotics.
  • Learning how robots detect lines and adjust movement accordingly.
  • Developing algorithms for precise line following.

Exercises/Projects:

  • Attaching and calibrating two brightness sensors on the robotic vehicle.
  • Writing a basic program for simple line following.
  • Implementing advanced logic for smoother navigation and speed control.
  • Optimizing algorithms for different track patterns and curves.
  • Completing a final challenge where the robotic vehicle autonomously follows a track with obstacles.

This course is Level 3, so here are some requirements:

1. You must be confident in using a computer, keyboard and mouse. At the good user level.
2. Know how we save files on a computer, what a file and folders are, etc.
3. You want to program robots and are not afraid to struggle with the difficulties of learning it.
4. Previous experience with robotics vehicle is good to have. The experience could be with various cars or robotics kits, that could use the block-based coding or text-based coding. Ideally, if you done our course: Robotics. Block-based coding. Level 1, 2 and 3.
